Fishing trip
STORY TOLD BY JUNE MAYO
My husband would go fishing all the time.
I went with him once and told him, “Don’t ever ask me to go with you again.” Because it didn’t work out when we went, we got stuck.
Something happened with the motor, and we were all the way behind the church in the Seaway, so we had to get all the way around the Marina to get back.
Jimmy made me walk along the shallow part to pull the boat while he sat inside and stirred.
After a while, I threw the rope at him and said, “You pull the goddamn boat.”
So, he pulled the boat the rest of the way while I was inside throwing rocks at him.
I was all dressed up and here we are now pulling the boat back to the dock on foot.
